![]() Just 65 Km. further down the Pan American highway, is the center of the wine and Pisco production throughout Peru. The local regional archaeological museum houses an excellent collection of the ancient civilizations of Nazca and Paracas cultures, and also home of one of the finer resort hotels, Las Dunas, where you will be staying, as well as the and the Mossone at the Huacachina oasis. Nearby wineries can be visited or an overflight (included) of the famous Nazca line drawings (pictured above) are also available here.
Almost 450 Km. South of Lima, lies Nazca, 2,500 years ago the seat of a pre-Inca civilization highly advanced in both astronomy and ceramic art. Enormous figures of animals, birds and people etched in the desert sands hundreds of years ago, some as much as 300 yards long. They can really only be appreciated when seen from the air, and remain as testimony to the remarkable culture, and made famous today in books, TV, films and the National Geographic.
