- Since 1976, thousands of tourists and researchers have enjoyed the hospitality at RESERVA AMAZÓNICA, an excellent base for exploring the Peruvian Amazon.It boasts 41 large, comfortable private cabins, with lovely views of the Madre de Dios River. Local materials were used to build the cabins in the style of the homes of the native Machiguenga and Ese-Eja indians. The cabins are on raised platforms, and have pitched roofs and large windows for optimal ventilation.
